October is recognised worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month - a time when we can come together to raise awareness, listen to our bodies, and support one another.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women. Worldwide, around one in 20 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime - in Australia and Germany, the figure is closer to one in eight.
A healthy lifestyle can help reduce the risk, but it cannot prevent breast cancer entirely. What can make a real difference is early detection.
Regular breast self-awareness plays an important role in early detection, yet many women feel uncertain about what to look for: What is normal? What should I pay attention to?
